The DIGESTIVE SYSTEM Concept Map-Group Project

Instructions: You will be using the chart paper provided to name the steps of food digestion from start to finish. You will use research from your group members, along with your science notes.

1.    On the chart paper, write your group member names.

2.    Write a title on the chart paper (Examples: Digestion, Digestive System, or something your group makes up).

Part 1:

*Research the first three parts of the digestive system, and fill out the information cards.

*Write out, or describe the first three steps of digestion, on your chart. Use the information found from your group research. You can use your science journal, or a textbook to help. 

*Step 1-Mouth

*Step 2- Esophagus

*Step 3- Stomach

*Now, research and describe what happens in the final THREE stages of digestion

*Step 4-Small Intestine

*Step 5- Large Intestine

*Step 6- Liver

*Write out, or describe the final three steps of digestion on your chart.

Part 2:

*Draw a diagram showing how a piece of food (your choice of what food) would travel from the mouth to the liver.

Part 3:

*Attach this paper, and any information cards to your concept map.
